Bureaucracies make rules, but we don’t elect them.
Bureaucracies are rarely reined in by lawmakers.
Bureaucracies are incredibly difficult to get rid of.
Our Founders never intended our elected representatives to punt their responsibilities to unelected bureaucrats. Lawmaking (rulemaking) belongs in the hands of your representatives. Not only were they directly elected by you, the voter, to make those laws, but if they have to make every law and rule themselves, those laws and rules will take more time to write, implement, and pass. Having a government that is slow is how it was intended. Having a government that can speedily implement new laws encourages its growth, its power, and its ability to limit your rights.
Returning to its purview is the first step in halting its expansion.
